🎵A few of my favourite things

Inspired by Maria’s famous lyrics in The Sound of Music, I thought I’d share a few of my ‘favourite’ tools and resources that help me run my business smoothly. If you’re a small business owner, charity, or solopreneur looking for tips, these might just become your favourites too!

Insurance

We all know how vital business insurance is for peace of mind. For me, PolicyBee ticks all the boxes. They offer a variety of insurance types tailored to your business needs. Bonus? You can get up to 10% off professional indemnity insurance by clicking here.

Meeting tools

There are so many options for virtual meetings, but after plenty of trial and error, my go-to is Google Meet for 1-2-1’s. It integrates seamlessly with my calendar and allows up to an hour of free calls. That said, Zoom and Microsoft Teams are also handy backups when needed.

Email marketing platforms

My current top pick is MailerLite—it’s user-friendly, simple, and great for businesses of all sizes. Mailchimp is another popular choice, but beware: their free plan has become increasingly restrictive.

Project management tools

Feeling overwhelmed juggling tasks and deadlines? A project management tool could be your lifesaver.

·         Trello is a personal favourite for its simplicity and ease of use.

·         Asana is another excellent choice and has been a game-changer for one of my clients, helping them organise their workflows and stay on top of deadlines.

Podcasts

No roundup of my business favourites would be complete without mentioning Assist This (and no, I am not biased)! We’re a group of five Virtual Assistants from across the UK, each bringing different skills and services to the table. On the podcast, we chat about the highs and lows of running a business—and, of course, always make time for a laugh. Find us on Instagram and LinkedIn (@assistthispodcast).

These tools, platforms, and resources have been invaluable in helping me manage my workload, streamline my processes, and stay productive. I hope some of them will become as helpful to you as they are to me!

Which tools do you love and rely on for your business? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
